Ketamine Treatment Pricing & Care Options

At Stillpoint Integrative Psychiatry & Wellness, ketamine treatment is offered through two distinct care models:

at-home ketamine via telehealth and in-office ketamine treatment.

Because ketamine affects people differently, all treatment begins with

a psychiatric evaluation to determine whether ketamine is appropriate and which care model best fits your needs.

This page outlines what pricing generally looks like so you can make an informed decision—without pressure or surprises.

A Note on How We Approach Pricing

Ketamine treatment is not a commodity.
Pricing reflects:

  • Clinical oversight and psychiatric expertise

  • Time, monitoring, and responsibility during treatment

  • A low-volume, individualized model of care

  • Safety, pacing, and integration support

We do not offer automated subscriptions, one-size-fits-all protocols, or high-volume ketamine services.

At-Home Ketamine Treatment (Telehealth)

At-home ketamine treatment is provided via telehealth to eligible Virginia residents. This option allows treatment to take place in your home, with ongoing psychiatric oversight.

Medication Cost

  • $150 per ketamine prescription (1 month)

This includes:

  • Ketamine medication dispensed for home use

  • Clear preparation and safety instructions

  • Ongoing clinical oversight related to medication use

Psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits are billed separately, based on time, in line with standard psychiatric care.

At-home ketamine is not appropriate for everyone. Eligibility is determined during a psychiatric evaluation.

In-Office Ketamine Treatment

In-office ketamine treatment is provided in a calm, private medical setting and includes direct clinical supervision throughout the session.

Each in-office session includes:

  • Ketamine medication

  • Supervised administration

  • Monitoring during the session

  • Observation and recovery time

  • Brief post-session grounding and check-in

  • Use of the treatment space

In-Office Pricing Options

Single In-Office Session

  • $350 per session

This option may be appropriate for:

  • Trial sessions

  • Occasional or infrequent treatment

  • Patients not pursuing a structured series

Initial In-Office Series (Most Common Starting Point)

  • $1,600 for a 5-session series
    (equivalent to $320 per session)

Most patients begin with a short series to:

  • Assess response and tolerability

  • Allow treatment effects to build gradually

  • Determine whether ketamine is helpful before deciding on longer-term plans

Maintenance In-Office Sessions

  • $300 per session

Maintenance sessions may be considered once symptoms are stable and treatment goals are clearer.

Psychiatric Evaluations & Follow-Up Visits

Ketamine treatment requires active psychiatric care.

Psychiatric visits are billed separately based on time:

  • $200 for 60-minute appointments

  • $100 for 30-minute appointments

These visits are used to:

  • Evaluate appropriateness for ketamine treatment

  • Monitor response and side effects

  • Adjust treatment plans as needed

  • Integrate ketamine work into broader mental health care

Insurance & Payment Information

  • Ketamine medication and in-office ketamine sessions are self-pay

  • Psychiatric visits may be eligible for insurance coverage depending on your plan (we accept most major Virginia insurers, except for Medicare and Medicaid.)

  • Payment is due at the time of service

We are happy to discuss documentation or receipts for out-of-network reimbursement when applicable.

Choosing the Right Care Model

Some individuals begin with in-office ketamine for added support, then transition to at-home treatment. Others prefer at-home treatment from the start. There is no single “right” path.

We will help you choose the approach that best fits:

  • Your symptoms

  • Your medical and psychiatric history

  • Your comfort level

  • Your goals for care

Next Steps

If you are considering ketamine treatment, the next step is a psychiatric consultation to determine whether this approach is appropriate and to discuss care options in more detail.

Care begins with clarity—not pressure.

Ketamine Treatment Pricing – Frequently Asked Questions

Why is ketamine treatment not billed through insurance?

Ketamine itself is typically not covered by insurance when used for depression, anxiety, or other off-label psychiatric indications. For this reason, ketamine medication and in-office ketamine sessions are offered on a self-pay basis.

Psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits, however, may be eligible for insurance reimbursement, depending on your plan. (See list of insurance we accept)

What does the in-office ketamine session price include?

In-office ketamine pricing reflects more than just the medication.

Each session includes:

  • Ketamine medication

  • Supervised administration

  • Continuous clinical monitoring

  • Use of a private treatment room

  • Observation and recovery time

  • A brief grounding and check-in afterward

This structure allows treatment to occur in a contained, medically supported environment, which is especially helpful early in treatment.

Why do most patients start with a series rather than a single session?

Ketamine tends to work cumulatively, especially in the early phase of treatment.

A short series allows time to:

  • Assess response and tolerability

  • Adjust pacing if needed

  • Avoid over- or under-treatment

  • Determine whether ketamine is genuinely helpful

Starting with a series is a clinical decision, not a sales tactic.

Is at-home ketamine less effective than in-office treatment?

No. The effectiveness of ketamine depends on the individual, not just the setting.

  • In-office treatment offers more structure and monitoring

  • At-home treatment offers convenience and comfort

Some patients benefit from starting in-office and later transitioning to at-home care. Others do well with at-home treatment from the beginning. The appropriate model is determined during evaluation.

Why is at-home ketamine priced separately from psychiatric visits?

Ketamine medication and psychiatric care serve different clinical roles.

  • The medication cost reflects the ketamine itself and medication-related oversight

  • Psychiatric visits involve evaluation, monitoring, decision-making, and integration into broader care

Separating these helps ensure that treatment decisions remain clinically grounded, not bundled or rushed.

How long do people typically continue ketamine treatment?

There is no fixed timeline.

Some people benefit from:

  • A short course and then stop

  • Occasional maintenance sessions

  • Ongoing at-home treatment for a period of time

Treatment duration is guided by response, stability, and goals—not a preset program.

Can pricing change over time?

Yes. Pricing may change as treatment needs evolve or if care transitions between in-office and at-home models.

Any changes are discussed in advance, with clarity and transparency.

Is ketamine guaranteed to work?

No. While ketamine can be very helpful for some individuals, it is not a guaranteed treatment.

Part of responsible ketamine care is recognizing when:

  • It is helping

  • It is not helping

  • Another approach may be more appropriate

Our role is to help you determine this thoughtfully and safely.

What is the first step if I’m interested?

The first step is a psychiatric consultation to determine:

  • Whether ketamine is appropriate

  • Which care model may fit best

  • What a reasonable treatment plan might look like

There is no obligation to proceed beyond that visit.
